Improving Outcomes through Effective Communication

We Assess, Listen, Protect, Humanize, Advocate. That is ALPHA. That is what we do.

At Alpha Triage & Health, we bridge the communication gap between patients and healthcare providers. Our main focus is to enhance care delivery and outcomes by incorporating proven strategies to disseminate critical information. One of the tools we offer is the Alpha Status Report, known as the A-STAT. This document provides a comprehensive overview for healthcare providers, highlighting a patient’s current health status and chief complaint, which we obtain through virtual or telephone triage assessments.

The A-STAT report can foster clarity in various patient-provider situations, including first-time visits for new patients, sick visits, and scheduled/follow-up appointments. It can also streamline admissions for urgent care and emergency room visits.

WHAT IS OUR FOCUS AT ALPHA TRIAGE?

ASSESSING: Mindfully appraising and carefully documenting health information

LISTENING: Discerning and highlighting essential details within the chief complaint

PROTECTING: Safeguarding personal information and maintaining privacy at all times

HUMANIZING: Treating all patients as human beings, not as numbers

ADVOCATING: Supporting and promoting quality outcomes for patients and families

  • A-STAT is a communication tool inspired by SBAR communication, which was originally developed by the U.S. Navy to facilitate precise dissemination of information in critical circumstances. This method has since been adopted and used for the same purposes among healthcare professionals. By leveraging this proven framework, the A-STAT, like the SBAR, ensures that crucial information is conveyed accurately and succinctly.

  • Our triage assessments are designed to be quick, easy, and straightforward. In just 15-20 minutes, a qualified triage nurse will gather essential information in a manner that closely aligns with the hospital triage process. Visual assessment of wounds, cuts, or bruises may be necessary to enrich the A-STAT findings. Patient information is protected under HIPAA guidelines and only accessed using encrypted passcodes for privacy and security.

  • It is important to note that our service does not provide a medical diagnosis. The sessions focus strictly on information sharing and documentation to aid in care delivery.

  • Currently, we do not accept any forms of commercial insurance. However, our services may be FSA/HSA eligible, depending on providers. Our low-cost, affordable services are offered on a self-pay basis. Some services may be available for as little as $5.

Our Commitment

Alpha Triage & Health is committed to enhancing the patient/provider experience and improving the efficiency of healthcare delivery. Patient safety and privacy are among our highest priorities on our quest to make appropriate connections for appropriate care and better outcomes.
